Océ Business Services Provides Eco-Friendly, Cost-Effective Document Management Practices

New York, NY (April 16, 2009) – In response to increasing client demand for sustainable products, services and technologies, Océ Business Services, a leader in document process management and electronic discovery, is launching several new initiatives as part of Océ Sustainability Awareness Week. The corporate campaign, which begins today and runs through April 23, 2009, provides Océ clients and employees with information about how organizations can implement document management best practices that are eco-friendly and cost effective.


Océ Business Services has been ranked as one of the top 50 outsourcing service providers for environmental stewardship for the past two years according to the Black Book of Outsourcing Green Report.


Océ stresses that green business can also be good business. Océ client Bremer Financial Services provides one example of how green initiatives can also help reduce costs. "We implemented a green campaign as a joint effort between the Bremer Facilities Group and Océ Business Services to reduce paper usage," notes Dolores Hoffman, supervisor of administrative services and facilities management for Bremer Financial Services’ Facilities Department. "Through initiatives such as moving print production to copiers that can print on both sides of a page, we have significantly reduced paper consumption and realized thousands of dollars in cost savings."

  2. Use recycled paper
  3. Print on workgroup instead of a desktop printer
  4. Pre-proof your document on screen
  5. Send print jobs to the mailbox
  6. Print multiple pages per page side
  7. Reduce your print to a smaller media size
  8. Make sure the printer’s energy-saving mode is turned on
  9. Scan-and-mail instead of copy
  10. Use old prints as note or scratch paper
  11. Throw obsolete prints into the recycling bin
  12. Turn off document headers
  13. Buy paper and toner in bulk to save on transportation
